Similar Figures

Similar figures:

Definition:    Two polygons having the same number of sides are said to be similar, if

(i) their corresponding angles are equal; and

(ii) their corresponding sides are in the same ratio (proportional).

Corollary 

  • All equilateral triangles are similar.
  • All squares are similar.
  • All regular polygons having the same number of sides are similar.
  • All circles are similar.
